Remus sighed as he walked into his apartment and dropped his keys onto the kitchen counter.
The Unamed One, he called her since hadn't figured out a name for her yet, come running into the kictchen to greet him, claws slipping on the hardwood floor.
"Hey, girl," he said gently, scratching behind her ears. "Hungry?"
She just looked at him, wagging her tail.
He got up and dug around his kitchen only to find that he didnt have anything suitable to feed a dog.
"Looks like we're going out for a bit of a shop," he said.
He grabbed his keys and whistled for her to follow. She ran out onto his front lawn, prancing and looking back at him eagerly.
They walked the short distance into dowtown, and by the time they reached the pet shop, Remus had gotten quite a few comments on how 'cute' or 'pretty' his dog was. He just nodded and said thanks.
Turns out he didnt just need dog food, but also a collar, a leash, chew toys and a bag of treats. He chuckled at the thought of ever having to do this for Sirius.
The muggle girl at the counter eyed Remus and his dog wearily. "You're s'pose to have a leash on her."
He put the items on the counter and smiled, "Its what I'm here for."
She didnt say anything and rang the items in. After he payed, he pulled out the collar and leash from the bag.
"Come here and sit still, will you?"
And surprisingly, she did. Soon they were back onto the street, with her prancing along not far ahead on the leash, enjoying every minute of being outside.
A few comments of 'nice dog' later, they were home, she was fed, and Remus slumped into an armchair in the living room.
It felt sort of good to not be the only one in the house anymore.
